This is an adventure of a lifetime in China, and you will meet the cute Giant Pandas in Chengdu Panda Base and take the Tibet Train to the Roof of the World. During the two-week long China tour, you will visit the most popular tourist destinations in China - Beijing, Xian and Shanghai to experience the past, present and future. Then head to Chengdu to get close touch with pandas and admire the mighty Leshan Giant Buddha. Later, enjoy a train ride on the world’s highest railway - Qinghai-Tibetan Railway with an altitude of 2200m to 5272m. You’ll be rewarded with a memorable trip in Lhasa, covering the marvelous Potala Palace, the golden Jokhang Temple and the monk debating in Sera Monastery. Start City: Beijing City / End City: Shanghai City
Highlight of trip: Admire the magnificent Great Wall and visit Beijing's landmarks of the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, and Summer Palace. Take the bullet train to Xi'an and discover the living soldiers of Terracotta and Horses. Watch and get close touch with the baby and adult pandas in Chengdu Panda Base. Experience the Qinghai-Tibet Railway to the Roof of the World and enjoy a memorable trip in Lhasa. Explore the Shanghai's highlights including Jade Buddha Temple, Shanghai Museum, Nanjing Road, and the Bund. Take a Huangpu River Cruise to see the stunning night scene.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Beijing Arrival
Flight: International flight on your own arrangement or on request
Welcome to Beijing, the Capital city of China. Your Beijing local tour guide is waiting for you at the airport, and then you'll be picked up and escorted to the hotel for check-in.
The rest of the today is for leisure to allow you to get recovered from the jet lag. If you are too tired, you can ask your tour guide for some suggestions about walking around nearby your hotel. Overnight in Beijing.

Day 2: Beijing - the Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven
Meals: B
After breakfast, you will first visit the Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world, and then walk to the Forbidden City, the sitting home to 24 Chinese emperors of Ming and Qing dynasties.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Temple of Heaven, where the emperors used to pray for a good harvest. Overnight in Beijing.

Day 3: Beijing - the Great Wall, Ming Tombs, Bird's Nest
Meals: B
Today, you will head to the Mutianyu Great Wall, the most beautiful section of the Great Wall in Beijing, where you can hike or take a cable car up to the Wall.
In the afternoon, tour the Ming Tombs, a collection of mausoleums of the majority of Ming dynasty's emperors. Then stop by a Pearl factory. On the way back to the hotel, you can take some photos of the Olympic sites - the Bird' Nest and the Water Cube. Overnight in Beijing.

Day 4: Beijing to Xian by High-Speed Rail
Meals: B
Today, you will first visit the Summer Palace, the resort for the Emperors. After lunch, drive to the train station for a high-speed rail to Xian, taking around 5 hours.
After your arrival in Xian, the ancient capital of China, you will be picked up by the local tour guide and escorted to your hotel. The rest of the day is for leisure on your own. Overnight in Xi'an.

Day 5: Xian - Terracotta Warriors, Ancient City Wall, Bell Tower
Meals: B
Today, your first stop is the incredible Terracotta Warriors, about 35 kilometers east of Xian, one of the largest and stunning archaeological finds of the 20th century.
In the afternoon, tour the Ancient City Wall, the best-kept city wall in the world. You can cycle or stroll on the city wall and feel its magnificence. At night, when the lights are lit on, visit the beautiful Bell Tower and Drum Tower, also the famous landmarks of Xian.

Optional:
If you want, we can arrange the famous Tang Dynasty Show and Dumpling Dinner for you. You can ask your tour guide to add as well.
Overnight in Xi'an.

Day 6: Xian to Chengdu - the Great Mosque, Muslim Street
Flight: Domestic flight is on Vietnam Catholic Tour's arrangement   
Meals: B
In the morning, visit the Great Mosque and then head to the local Muslim Street to seek for delicious street food.
After that, you will transfer to the airport and take a flight to Chengdu. Upon arrival, you will be picked up by your local tour guide and escorted to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the today is your leisure time. Overnight in Chengdu.

Day 7: Chengdu - Chengdu Panda Base, Leshan Giant Buddha, Tianfu Square
Meals: B
In the morning, head to Chengdu Panda Base. Morning is the feeding time of pandas. And you will have the opportunity to watch baby and adult pandas eating fresh bamboos.
After lunch, drive about 2 hours to Leshan, where you can visit the biggest sitting Buddha sculpture in the world, about 71- meter in height. The grand Buddha was completed in 803 of Tang Dynasty after 90 year's construction. You can watch it by hike or cruise.
Later, drive back to Chengdu and end the tour at Tianfu Square. Overnight in Chengdu.

Day 8: Chengdu to Tibet by Qinghai-Tibet Railway
Meals: B
Enjoy your free time in Chengdu to visit some popular tourist attractions like Jinli Street, Wuhou Temple, Jinsha Museum, etc.
In the evening, board the train from Chengdu to Lhasa. Tibet Railway is the world’s highest Railway, offering stunning alpine scenery full of snow caped mountains, lakes, vast plateau plains littered with nomads, yaks, Tibetan antelope and many other wild life elements. Overnight on the train.

Day 9: On the Train to Tibet
Meals: B
The Tibet Train will take you to pass by Yuzhufeng - the main peak of Kunlun Mountain, World Natural Heritage Kekexili Naturel Preserve, Tuotuo River - the resource of Yangtze River, Naqu Grassland and Cuona Lake. Enjoy the magnificent landscapes along the way. Overnight on the train.

Day 10: Arrive in Lhasa
Meals: B
The train will arrive in Lhasa in the morning around 10:00 am. On arrival, you local tour guide will pick you up and escort you to your hotel in Lhasa. Have a good rest to get acclimatized to the high altitude. Overnight in Lhasa.

Day 11: Lhasa - the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street
Meals: B
After breakfast, visit the famous Potala Palace. Admire its magnificent audience halls, the golden and jeweled-decorated burial chortens of the past Dalai Lamas, tremendous number of Buddhist frescoes, and Thang-kas which is a unique Tibetan painting.
In the afternoon, visit the holiest temple of Tibet, the Jokhang Temple. Then head to the well-known Barkhor Street, where you can see tons of traditional Tibetan artifacts, religious implements, antiques, books, Tibetan music instrument, Thang-kas, and Tibetan clothes etc. Overnight in Lhasa.

Day 12: Lhasa - Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery

Today, you will visit two important monasteries in Lhasa, the Drepung Monastery and the Sera Monastery.
Drepung Monastery was once home of 10,000 monks and Ganden Podrang in Drepung was famous as the government’s centre during the fifth Dalai Lama.
After that, visit Sera Monastery, which was founded in 1419 by Tsongkapa’s disciple Jamchen Choeje. You have the chance to watch a wonderful monk debating here. Overnight in Lhasa.

Day 13: Lhasa to Shanghai
Meals: Breakfast
Today, you’ll be free until transferring to the airport and take a flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival, you will be picked up by your local tour guide and escorted to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the today is your leisure time. Overnight in Shanghai.

Day 14: Shanghai - the Jade Buddha Temple, the Bund, Huangpu River Cruise
Meals: B
After breakfast, start the city trip after a short rest. Your first stop is the Jade Buddha Temple, a peaceful temple in the bustling modern city. Then head to the Shanghai Museum, one of China's best museums.
After a local flavor lunch, stroll the historic riverfront - the Bund, and walk around the famous and popular pedestrian shopping street - Nanjing Road. And your tour today ends by taking a Huangpu River Cruise to see the city from a different angle. Overnight in Shanghai.

Day 15: Shanghai Departure

Today you will visit the People's Square where you can get a lively picture of Shanghai's culture and history before your tour guide picks you up to the airport. Tour ends and looking forward to seeing you again!
