Dien Bien Phu Battle was the climactic confrontation of the First Indochina War between the French Union's French Far East Expeditionary Corps and Viet Minh communist-nationalist revolutionaries. This battle tour is including a visit to the historic battlefield of Dien Bien Phu and also visit the hill tribe villages of Tai, Thai and H”Mong peoples. Today, most visitors who reach this outpost come for the history, but along with the old army headquarters, a museum and monuments, Dien Bien Phu offers pristine mountain scenery and fascinating minority cultures. Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive in Hanoi ( L,D )
Meet at Hanoi Airport and transfer to the hotel. After lunch, we start your tour first visit the Military History Museum, where photos and war remains will give you a first approach of Vietnamese history through its conflicts. Visit nearby Hanoi Flag tower and learn why it is one of the most respected symbols of the country.
 
Our next visit is Hoa Lo Prison, built and used by French rulers in Vietnam for political prisoners, and then by the government of North Vietnam for war prisoners. This building is also known by the name of “Hanoi Hilton” and “hosted” some American prisoners such as Senator John McCain and Pete Peterson, United States’ first post-war ambassador to Vietnam in 1997.
 
Continue on to visit B-52 Victory Museum, displaying relics of B-52, an aircraft that played a major role in the American war. On the way back, you also see a small lake contains wreckage of a B-52 bomber shot down over Hanoi in 1972. ( now also called B-52 lake ).

Last on your journey to the Long Bien Bridge ( originally named Doumer Bridge ), built in 1902 by Sir Gustave Eiffel’s company. Take a walking tour of this fascinating structure to learn more on its role in war time. Enjoy dinner and stay overnight in Hanoi
 
Day 2: Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu ( B,L,D )
Check out at the hotel and transfer to the airport for the flight to Dien Bien Phu. In the afternoon, we will walk around the town for visiting Dien Bien Phu cemetery and the museum, explore the local market. Have dinner and stay overnight at the hotel in Dien Bien Phu.
 
Day 3: Dien Bien Phu ( B,L,D )
After breakfast, we visit the former battlefields. It was here that the French planned to lure the Viet Minh, led by Ho Chi Minh, into the valley by sending 16,000 French troops as bait. The French however did not count on the brilliant leadership of General Vo Nguyen Giap, managed to place the Vietnamese artillery on the surrounding ridges. We will then visit the head quarter of General Giap and have a chance to meet several of the different ethnic minority tribes with a visit the villages of both the Thai and H'Mong people. We return to the hotel for the second night stay in Dien Bien Phu .
  
Day 4: Dien Bien Phu - Hanoi ( B )
Free at leisure until transfer to Dien Bien Phu Airport for a flight back to Hanoi. Trip ends here.
