Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive in Saigon ( L,D )
Meet at Saigon Airport and transfer to the hotel. We will then discover the history of the Reunification Palace, where, in 1975, a North Vietnamese Army tank crashed through the main gates, effectively ending the Vietnam War. We make a stop at the site of the US Embassy and visit the War Remnants Museum, containing exhibits from the French Indo-China War and the Vietnam War. Continue to explore Ben Thanh market in central Saigon. Built in 1870, it is the largest market in the city and the most authentic. Stay overnight in Saigon.
Day 2: Saigon - Cu Chi Tunnels ( B,L,D )
After breakfast, we drive to the incredible Cu Chi tunnel complex north of Saigon, an immense network of connecting tunnels used by Viet Cong troops. As well as being used in combat, they also served as communication and supply routes, hospitals, food and weapons caches, and living quarters. Explore inside the tunnels and imagine the conditions faced by both sides; tunnels were often booby trapped and examples of traps used are on display.
Enjoy dinner and stay overnight at the hotel in Saigon.
Day 3: Mekong Delta – My Tho - Ap Bac ( B,L,D )
This morning, we drive to the little changed battlefield of Ap Bac, a pivotal battle of the Vietnam War and a potent for the eventual failure in South Vietnam. Proceed to My Tho, a center of operations for US and Australian troops, to explore the Mekong Delta by boat to learn more about the US Brown Water Navy. Return to Saigon for dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Saigon - Vung Tau - Ba Ria - Dat Do - Long Hai ( B,L,D ) |
We leave Saigon for Vung Tau - The city center, located on the southern tip of the peninsula, have been long known as a tourist haven for business people from Saigon.
After lunch, we travel Northeast to the township of Ba Ria, the Dat Do Warrior graveyard, Long Hai and former Minh Dam Secret Zone. Overnight at the hotel in Vung Tau City. |

Day 5: Vung Tau - Nui Dat - Long Phuoc - Hoa Long ( B,L,D ) |
Today, we drive north to Nui Dat passing what is left of the Horseshoe on the way. ( The Horseshoe was mined several years ago and entry is no longer allowed ) Whilst few remnants remain of the former Task Force Base, plenty of time is allowed to explore the area and visit the local school, which is in need of repair and is situated at the end of what was once the Luscombe Airstrip. After visiting the township of Hoa Long, we return to our hotel for an overnight stay. |
Day 6: Vung Tau – Saigon Airport ( B ) |
After breakfast, we drive back to Saigon Airport for your flight home. |
